Seat 23: one film, seven nights in a row
Our critic watched the same film every night for a week, from the same seat. Here is what changed (mostly the critic).
Night one: I liked it. Night two: I noticed the music. Night three: I noticed the man in row F who laughs at the same moment every time.
By night five the film had become a place. I knew where the light would fall on the screen, which scene made the woman next to me lean forward, how long the silence lasted before the final cut.
Repeat viewing is supposed to wear a film out. This one wore me in.
