Valleys of volcanic tuff worn by erosion into tall cones and fairy chimneys, with churches and houses cut into the rock. Göreme National Park and the Rock Sites of Cappadocia were inscribed by UNESCO in 1985.
At the end of the day the pale tuff warms to apricot and rose.
