For decades the pilea travelled around Europe as cuttings passed between friends, long before shops sold it. Healthy plants send up small offsets around the base that root easily.
How to care for it
- Light
- Bright, indirect light. Give it a quarter turn every week or so; it leans towards the window.
- Water
- When the top half of the soil is dry, every week or two. Drooping leaves mean it is ready for a drink.
- Good to know
- Separate offsets once they are a few centimetres tall and pot them up on their own.
