Once settled, spider plants send out long stems carrying miniature plants that you can pot up and give away. It is one of the easiest plants to share, which is how most people get their first one.
How to care for it
- Light
- Medium to bright, indirect light. In low light the stripes fade and it makes fewer plantlets.
- Water
- When the top layer of soil is dry, about weekly. Its thick roots store water, so it forgives the odd miss.
- Good to know
- Brown tips are often caused by salts in tap water. Rainwater helps, and trimming the tips does no harm.
